Motivation Isn't Real

Motivation is unreliable. It's fleeting and changes by the day, the hour, and sometimes even the minute. Motivation can be influenced by the weather, interactions with other people, your mood, and many other external factors. What you're looking for is discipline. Discipline is a decision you make to take action. How do you cultivate discipline?

  1. Create a plan with SMART (specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, time-bound goals and objectives (how will you achieve these goals?)

  2. Establish a routine which creates consistency.

  3. Consistency before perfection. Consistency creates habits. Consistency is when you show up for yourself.

  4. Limit distractions.

  5. Visualize. You can even create a vision board to help.

  6. Track your progress.

  7. Seek support.

  8. Reward yourself.

This is the secret sauce to "motivation".

You got this!
